Beschreibung

The tribological conditions in angular contact ball bearings under small pivoting angles are challenging due to the lubrication at the reversal points. The change of the rotational speed and the resulting modification of the frictional properties have to be considered. The presented setup can be used to perform tests analogously to constant velocity joint shafts as used in the automotive industry. Achieving lower frictional properties and a longer lifetime is a key for this market. Additionally, there is a demand for higher productivity at comparable or better bearing surface qualities. Similar to classic constant velocity joint shaft test stands, the setup for the analogue measurements could be kept much easier by using angular contact ball bearings. The setup allows to measure frictional properties and the pivoting angle during the tests.
