Beschreibung

This paper presents an adaptronic approach to improve the ability of industrial buckling arm robots for machining purposes. Therefor a structure component of a 6 DOF industrial robot is substituted with an adaptronic component. Highly-flexible piezo-based actuator foils and sensors are structurally integrated during the manufacturing process. Dimensioning methods for CFRP based components with integrated actuators are shown. Moreover, applicable manufacturing methods are discussed. The paper shows the potential of the implemented measures for an active damping of structural vibration due to chattering conditioned by machining forces and for a precision positioning even in the sub-micrometer range.
