Beschreibung

Cooling circuits of machine tools affect the accuracy and allow high power densities for components like the spindle unit. Besides this, the cooling unit has come into focus in terms of energy saving potentials as it is a major consumer. Hence, a thermal model of a motor spindle was developed which is linked to another model of a novel speed controlled fan cooling system. The Finite Difference Method is used to estimate the fluid flow with the help of one-way conductance. Thus, the temperature distribution of an asynchronous spindle and the interaction between both components are examined.
