Are you interested in the latest trends?

As a member of our working group, you will identify innovations at an early stage, discuss ideas and contribute your own challenges. You will gain a deep understanding of manufacturing processes, the interactions between production and application, and new methods for characterising tool properties. This will keep you close to research and industry – and allow you to actively shape the future of grinding tool technology.

Your benefits:

Trends and innovations

You gain early access to the latest research findings and technologies – for the strategic orientation of your manufacturing.

Solutions for your application

You ask the questions and shape the content of our research. The solutions we develop are tailored to your application.

Network and partnership

You benefit from exchanges with leading industrial companies and from partnerships within our network.

Current research topics of the working group

We are researching the entire process chain of grinding tool production. To this end, we analyse the raw materials used, the mixing, moulding, sintering and conditioning processes, and the grinding tools produced.

  • Sustainable bonding systems made of metal and plastic
  • Costs and benefits of coatings for diamonds
  • Innovative manufacturing processes for highly porous metal bonds
  • Process time reduction through pressure sintering of ceramic bonds
  • Additive manufacturing of grinding tools independent of bonding
