25th Machining Innovations Conference for the Aerospace Industry

Around 100 international experts gathered at the Hannover Production Technology Centre on 4 and 5 February 2026 for the anniversary edition of the Machining Innovations Conference (MIC). The conference offered an excellent opportunity for industry and research to discuss the challenges of modern manufacturing. Participants discussed solutions with the potential to influence the long-term development of the aerospace manufacturing. The event once again emphasised Hanover's importance as a global hub for manufacturing technology innovation and networking.

The Manufacturing Innovations Network e.V. (MIN) and the Institute for Manufacturing Technology and Machine Tools (IFW) welcomed a large number of guests to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Machining Innovations Conference (MIC). The event once again attracted an international audience from Europe, America and Japan.

The programme impressed with its blend of industrial applications and academic excellence. Leading industry representatives presented their strategies for addressing the key topics of digitalisation in production, sustainable manufacturing and additive manufacturing. Young scientists also presented their latest research contributions, showcasing significant innovation potential for the years ahead.

Particular focus was placed on the implementation of new technologies. During an exclusive tour of the IFW test field, live technology demonstrations brought current research projects to life. Practical insights were provided in both the institute's own demonstrations and in collaboration with industry partners and start-ups. The accompanying poster presentation and industrial exhibition, featuring specialised industry companies, provided an ideal setting for in-depth technical exchange.

The day's programme concluded with an evening event in Hanover's old town hall. Here, participants had the opportunity for further professional exchange in a relaxed atmosphere over good food.

We would like to thank all the speakers and guests for their inspiring discussion and insightful contributions.
