Whether to support component quality assurance, process development and monitoring, or to find the cause of damage to a component or tool, high-performance surface and subsurface analysis is essential. We support all questions in manufacturing technology with modern and proven methods and decades of experience. Interrelationships between machining, surface and subsurface properties and application behavior can only be fundamentally understood and specifically utilized with the aid of suitable analytical methods.

OUR COMPETENCIES IN THE FIELD OF SURFACE AND BOUNDARY ZONE ANALYSIS:

  • Coordinate and surface measurement techniques using optical and tactile methods (coordinate, contour and roughness measurements)
  • Determination of residual stresses with the aid of radiographic and borehole methods (sin² psi method, scatter vector method, angle and energy dispersive X-ray diffraction, ESPI and DMS borehole methods)
  • Scanning electron microscopy (SE, BSE, EDX and EBSD methods)
  • Materialography (microstructure and hardness investigations, sample preparation for EBSD)
