Joint analysis of the entire process chain, from binding systems and grain combinations to testing methods, in order to increase your efficiency.
Tool and process development
Our expertise in tool and process development covers the entire process chain: from the manufacture of innovative tools for grinding and machining to optimisation for industrial use. Close cooperation between grinding tool manufacturing, grinding technology and machining results in tailor-made solutions for complex machining tasks. Using state-of-the-art methods such as simulation, high-speed analysis, thermography and force measurement technology, we develop stable, energy-efficient processes for demanding materials and geometries.
Your benefits:
Increased productivity
thanks to robust processes tailored to your specific application
Sustainable manufacturing
with reduced energy and resource consumption through efficient process design
Higher component quality
and reproducible results through precise tools and stable process chains
Long-term experience
in safety-related industries and with demanding materials
Shorter development times
through simulation and focused trials in tool and process development
Tool and process development: Our services
- Consistently mapping the process chain – We develop processes tailored to the tools and materials. This means that we adapt tool geometries, grinding wheel structures and process parameters to the material, component geometry and target values. In doing so, we consider the entire chain, from design and measurement to evaluation and validation for series production.
- Developing tools in a targeted manner – We develop and optimise grinding tools in terms of bonding, grain, porosity and profile. We improve all other cutting tools through macro and micro geometry, cutting edge preparation and chip breaker steps.
- Reliably determining process windows – Simulation and structured test plans provide reliable parameters for stable, efficient processes – even with demanding materials and complex geometries.
- Using measurement and monitoring technology – With high-speed analysis, thermography and force measurement technology, we transparently record process states and evaluate stability, forces and quality under real conditions.
- Optimising service life and quality – We identify wear mechanisms, chatter and stability limits, and quality deviations. On this basis, we derive concrete measures, such as geometry adjustments, cooling lubricant strategy, feed and cutting data, or monitoring thresholds.
- Ensuring sustainability – Regrinding tools, reusing chips and resource-saving cooling lubricant strategies reduce energy consumption and strengthen the circular economy.
- Faster application – We test prototypes and processes on our test benches and validate processes on our machines. This reduces iteration loops and accelerates the transfer to series production.
In our working groups, you benefit from shared knowledge, try out best practices and engage in direct exchange with experts from your industry. This allows you to avoid typical mistakes early on, accelerate your development and expand your network at the same time.
Your advantages over an individual solution:
- Knowledge advantage: You learn from the experiences of others without having to work through every topic yourself at great expense.
- Risk minimisation: You identify and resolve problems before they arise.
- Acceleration: Regular exchange formats allow you to gain new insights more quickly.
- Benchmarking: You compare approaches, key figures and processes on an equal footing.
- Network and cooperation: You quickly find suitable partners for projects.
